Bead Embroidery Materials
If you’re new to bead embroidery, then where do you start? I suggest your first task would be to gather together these bead embroidery materials. But what are they? Happily, you probably already have...
In this section, I want to look at the other beading materials that don’t fall under the category of beads, or findings, or wires and thread. Did you even know there were other things you can use for beading?
So, what am I thinking of here? Well, let’s say you want to do some bead embroidery. Yes, you will need some beads and some thread. But you also need the material onto which to embroider. Then, you need some backing to finish off your project.
Now, think about French beading. Again, you need your seed beads and your wire. But you will also need some additional supplies that you might not find in a bead shop. I’m thinking of floral stem tape and embroidery silks.
How about leather? Did you know that you can combine beads with leather? And I’m not just talking about stringing beads onto a leather thong. You can also use strips of leather and add beads to make bracelets, or earrings, and more.
So, with all those options for other beading materials that you may need in specific styles of beadwork, I thought I had better create a section to cover them.
Now, as with all areas of this website, I’m adding new stuff all the time. So, if you have a burning question about some materials and you can’t find any information, don’t worry. Just use this link to ask me and I will add an article to help you (and others).
And remember, if you join my mailing list, you will get a monthly newsletter with all the new articles, delivered direct to your inbox. I will also give you a special welcome gift. So, click here to find out more.
